[1] Gregor dhu known as "Gregor McGillichallum McCuill” in Glengyll, May 4 1581, and as "Gregor McCulquheir in Kyleter," August 13 1586. [23] It is not positively known whether this Gregor or his brother Malcolm was senior, but the presumption from his being recorded as in Glengyll &c is that Gregor was the eldest. By a daughter of Thomas Buchanan of Carbeth by a daughter of the Laird of Buchannan, Gregor dhu had five sons.
1. Malcolm his heir.
2. Gregor.
3. Duncan mentioned as Malcolm's brother and as alive Sep.24, 1621.
4. John McGregour VcCoulchere, denounced in Roll, Feb. 4,1589. It is inferred that he was son of this Gregor, because this House was wont only to call themselves MacGregor if the father had the Christian name.
5. Donald Gramoch McGregor VcCulchere killed in a skirmish at Tomzarloch, March l612. Duncan Beg McGregor VcCulchere, [page 255] probably a natural son, was one of Glenstray's Council Jan. 1604, and executed at Edinburgh Feb.17 following.

Griogair a' chnoic appears to have obtained forgiveness in 1613.
Bearing in mind the royal command that a MacGregor could be forgiven if he brought the head of another of equal rank, we have -
The late Alasdair Duncan’s thesis on MacGregor poetry contains ‘Rann air Griogair Odhar Ard’. He says he took the poem from NLS ms 2135, vol. 7, p. 299. In his notes (p. 96) he says:
In the manuscript the text is headed: “Rann air Grigair Odhar Ard Mac Dhonncha na’n Gleann bhrathar do Mhac Grigair Ghleann Shreatha, an Gleann Uracha, aig taobh Loch Eite an Sgire Ardchattain.” Donnacha na’n Gleann was a younger brother of Gregor Roy of Glenstrae and his son Gregor was “a famous soldier.” (Clan Gregor, I, pp. 54–5.) The manuscript says of him: “this Gregor surpassed all the McGregors of his day, in personal strength, courage and conduct, as well as in civilization. He, after honourably concluding a peace with the families of Argyle and Breadalbane, was treacherously murdered, under a false pretence of having betrayed them, by a tribe of his own name, commonly called ‘Sliochd Ghrigair a’ Chnoic’ at Monadh Ghearraig, head of the parish of Aberfoyle, in Perthshire, while in the act of stooping down to tie his garter.”

[9] The second son of Gregor Dhu or Gregor McIlle challum McCuill in Glengyle, III of the line was Gregor styled Gregor a Chnoic, i.e. of the Rock. He left a son- Gregor oig or Gregor McGregor in Dow of Glengyle so mentioned Jan. 18, 1670, when he acquired from John Buchanan of that Ilk the land of Easter Corerklet and in 1678 the lands of Coriheichen. He left three sons. He is said to have bought "Stronchlachair, two Coirairclets, Inversnaid, 'Leitter Riach odhar agus Druimnasonnan' from the Laird of Buchanan." 1st John Graham of Corerklet, who by a disposition of his Father Gregor McGregor March 14, 1690, acquired the lands of Easter Corerklet. Jan.20, 1693, John McGregor of Easter Corerklet, called by his own name in spite of the penal laws, and Catherine Grahame his spouse, had of Donald MacGregor brother of John McGregor of Bracherne and of Dougal McGregor of Easter Callichree, both wadsetters of Wester Corerklet, a joint disposition of one third of those lands to himself and his wife in liferent and to Dougal, their eldest son in fee. Soon after he took his wife's name of Graham and on July 16, 1695, was enfeoffed in the 40 shilling land of Wester Corerklet on a dis¬position by Isabella Graham relict of John McGregor of Brachern, to whose lands she had succeeded. She settled Brachern on herself in liferent and on her nephew Alexander Graham in fee, and probably Catherine Graham on whom she settled her other property may have been the said Alexander's sister.

[10] March 10, 1698, John Graham of Corerklet was enfeoffed in the two mark land of Pollochroe on a contract of mortgage betwixt him on one part and Archibald Graham of Kilmanan with consent of Hew Graham his eldest son on the other. Robert Campbell in Glengyle, known as Rob Roy, Dougal Graham in Cromer, Rob's brother-in-law, son of Ewne McGregor late in Wester Frenich, afterwards in Comer, and a brother of John McGregor of Brachern also John Graham of Callichra, were wit¬nesses. The lineal descendant and representative of John Graham of Corerklet is Gregorson of Ardtornish whose ancestor sold his lands in Perthshire and whose family was intermediately styled of Aucharn.

[11] 2. Gregor McGregor 2d son of Gregor McGregor of Easter Corerklet had a disposition of an annuity of £20 out of the lands of Comermore from Malcolm MacFarlane sometime in Wester Brachern now in Ledard. Gregor's daughter Mary married Robert McGregor other¬wise Campbell first of Innersnait, and afterwards of Craigrostan, commonly called Rob Roy. Gregor's son Dougal Graham in Corner had from Archibald Graham of Kilmanan a mortgage right of the 3 lb land of Innersnait, John Graham of Corerklet and Robert Campbell witness the sasine Jan.23. 1695.

[12] 3. Alexander, 3d son of Gregor McGregor, was known as Archibald Graham of Coriheichen of which lands he had a disposition March 14, 1690. "Alexander McGregor son to Gregor Oig of Corerklet" was bailie in enfeoffment of Archibald McGregor of Kilmanan in the ten pound land of Craigrostan Jan. 1694. As Alexander Graham in Corerklet Jan. 4, 1695, he entered into a contract of marriage with Agnes Graham sister of John Graham in Gartnerinoch.

[13] The source for Margaret, dtr of John in Kyletter (Coileitir) marrying Coll, son of Rob Roy is a genealogy printed in WH Murray's "Rob Roy"
From Amelia vol ii, page 491 (Appendix O) marriage contract between Coll and Margaret
"Be it known to all men be these presents, me Coll Campbell Son to Robert Campbell late of Inversnaid Forasmuch as in the month of December last bypast (ie 1720) there was a marriage betwixt me and Margaret Campbell eldest lawful daughter to John Campbell in Kerletter in Glenfalloch"

[14] Gilespa Ruadh of Ardlarich, who married first Annabella Stewart, daughter of Dougal Mac Tighearna na h-Apin (Stewart of Appin), by whom he had two daughters. He married, secondly, a daughter of John Macgregor of Drumlich in Balquhidder, by whom he had two sons, Duncan and John, and several daughters. He married, thirdly, Ann nighean lan duibh Mhic Grigair, by whom he had Alexander (afterwards referred to as VI. of Ardlarich), Elizabêth, and Marjory. His son, John, was for sorne time in the Black Watch after it was first raised.

[15] IV. Duncan MacGilespa, who was thrice married - first to Elizabeth, daughter of Gregor Mac Dhoncha Mhic Geai Challum, by whom he had one son, John, who died young; secondly, to Jean, daughter of Patrick, brother to John of Drumlich, by whom he had three daughters ; thirdly to Mary, daughter of Gilespa Macdonald of Dalness, by whom he had three sons, Robert, Gilespa, and James, and two daughters, Margaret and Elizabeth. Gilespa died young. James went to the army, and was married, but whether he left any children is unknown. He was succeeded by his eldest son,
