"John Dow Duncansoun was himself a natural son of Duncan MacGregor in Moreloganemore, but in 1528 a royal letter was given to enable him to inherit property the same as if he were legitimate."

Neil suggests: 1562. May 21. Murder of Allaster McEwin Dow VcGregor by Patrick McAyn VycOlchallum alias McGregor Kyllejiese (Killiehassie ?) he was buried at Foss. Alaster was killed during the period when Glenorchy gave tacks to Clan Randall in Rannoch when many of the Menzies McGregor tenants were forced off their leased/tenanted lands of Rannoch hence the location of the death being near loch Tummell, which was also Menzies lands. Below is my interpretation of his patrynomic naming tree. |
